A long-established and respected firm of accountants based in Eastbourne is seeking to expand its workforce by hiring a committed
Accounts Assistant, following a sustained period of business growth.
Your Key Responsibilities: You’ll be liaising with a portfolio of small to mid-sized businesses. Main duties will include:
- Supporting the management of a client portfolio, ensuring top-tier service delivery.
- Producing and reviewing accounts for sole proprietors, personal tax submissions, limited company financials, and corporation tax filings.
- Handling VAT enquiries and staying current with regulatory obligations.
- Maintaining high professional standards and engaging in continued professional development and internal training opportunities.
- Assisting in the development of junior team members by offering guidance and support.
- Strengthening your expertise in Xero and other cloud-accounting tools.
This position is well-suited for someone with previous experience in an accountancy practice environment who is keen to broaden their exposure and take on a wider variety of accounting and taxation tasks.
The Ideal Applicant: The preferred candidate will be AAT qualified (or part-qualified) and have up-to-date experience within a practice setting. Strong communication skills, a self-motivated attitude, and a willingness to grow professionally are key, as this role includes frequent interaction with clients.
