Accounts Assistant

Your new company

Our client is recruiting for a Graduate Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. The hours of work are Monday-Friday 9am - 5.30pm. The offices are based in Lanarkshire, and it is advisable that applicants have access to their own transport. The organisation offers hybrid working; 3 days in office and 2 days from home.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working as part of a finance function of 15 (but as part of a smaller sub-team), the Graduate Accounts Assistant will undertake various financial responsibilities. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to;

• Purchase Ledger & payment runs
• Sales Ledger & credit control duties
• Client and supplier management
• Cashbook maintenance
• Accruals
• Prepayments
• Journals
• VAT returns
• Assisting with monthly management accounts

What you'll need to succeed

No experience is required as full training will be provided. You will be an ambitious and hardworking graduate who is passionate about developing a career within finance. Experience is advantageous but it isn't essential. You will be a professional and personable communicator as you will liaise with clients, colleagues and management on a daily basis via telephone, email and face to face. You will be keen to study and begin/continue your professional exams as study support is offered.
