Job Title: Accounts AssistantLocation: Andover AreaJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentJob SummaryWe are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance function. This role involves a variety of bookkeeping and administrative tasks, including invoicing, bank reconciliations, credit control, purchase ledger management, and general finance support. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the accounts department.Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and process invoices, receipts, and payments. Manage the purchase ledger, including entering supplier invoices and reconciling statements. Conduct credit control duties, including monitoring aged debt and following up with customers to ensure timely payments. Assist with bank reconciliations and VAT returns. Process and reconcile employee expenses and company credit cards. Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve account queries. Ensure compliance with financial procedures, internal controls, and relevant regulations. Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.Required Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a finance or accounting role (preferred but not essential). Experience with credit control and purchase ledger processes. Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Good working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel). Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Desirable Attributes
AAT qualification or currently studying towards one (or a similar finance qualification). Experience working in a small business or SME environment. Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic setting.What you need to do now
