Accounts Assistant - Construction

A fast‑growing construction business is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant to support the day‑to‑day running of a newly built in‑house finance function. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance career who wants exposure, development and the chance to grow in a fast‑moving, commercial environment.

You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, supporting core processing, reconciliations, supplier management and month‑end tasks. This role suits someone organised, accurate and proactive, who enjoys being part of a business that's scaling quickly.

Responsibilities:

Process invoices - Accurate processing and coding of purchase invoices
Supplier queries - Handling supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
Bank reconciliations - Completing bank recs and supporting cash visibility
Payment runs - Assisting with weekly payment runs
Data entry - Maintaining accurate financial records and system data
Month‑end support - Helping with journals, accruals and month‑end close
Admin support - General finance administration and filing
Process improvement - Supporting improvements to systems and processes

What We're Looking For:

Early‑career finance professional or Accounts Assistant
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good Excel skills
Organised, proactive and eager to learn
Ability to work at pace in a growing business
Construction or project‑based experience beneficial but not essentialWhat's In It For You:
