Accounts Assistant / Semi Senior Accountant

We are working with a modern accountancy firm based in Preston, Lancashire, who are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Semi Senior Accountant to join their small, vibrant office on a full time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior or Trainee Accountant with 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice who is looking for the next step in their accounting career!

Accounts Assistant / Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview

• Bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns for a variety of clients including sole traders, SME's, LTD companies and OMB's.
• Experience in using accounting software - ideally xero, Iris and well versed with Excel
• Accounts preparation up to review stage - you will be working closely with a Senior to guide you
• Preparing personal tax returns, primarily for directors and shareholders

• At least 3 years' experience in a UK accountancy firm
• Experience in preparing final accounts
• AAT qualified (or working towards)
• ACCA Study support available for the right individual
• Passionate about helping your clients grow, acting with integrity and able to use initiative to problem solve

Accounts Assistant / Semi Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits

• £25,000 - £30,000 per annum dependant on skills and experience (could be more for the right person)

• Monday to Thursday: Flexible start between 8am - 10am, finish between 4pm - 6pm.
• Friday: 9am - 2pm (half-day!).
• Hybrid working - Monday each week is an office day
• Lunch break: 30 minutes.
