A growing and well-regarded accountancy firm based in Southend is looking for a motivated and ambitious Accounts Associate to join their dynamic team. With strong roots in the South East and a commitment to developing talent from within, this firm offers a supportive environment to develop technical skills while working towards your professional qualification.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing annual accounts and maintaining accurate financial records for a wide range of clients.
• Support with the collection and preparation of information required for VAT and tax returns.
• Communicate with external bodies, including HMRC, to follow up on routine queries.
• Contribute to basic compliance work and learn the foundations of accountancy practice.
• Collaborate closely with team members while also handling individual responsibilities.
• Carry out general administrative support where required.

Personal Requirements

• You are studying towards (or interested in enrolling onto) AAT, with future progression to ACA or ACCA.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to manage your time effectively across various client assignments.
