Accounts Controller

Are you AAT qualified and an experienced Accounts practitioner? Are you keen for a new challenge servicing a variety of clients?

We are looking for a self sufficient and dedicated individual to manage day to day needs for a diverse and established client base including SMEs, sole traders and limited companies.

This role is key to the smooth running of the business and you will need to have sound commercial acumen to ensure clients receive a superb service.

The primary focus of the role is overseeing the financial operations of firm and reporting in to the business owners. Long term, the role could develop in to one of joint ownership along side one other.

We are looking for someone who relishes responsibility and is keen to use expertise to add value to a successful small practice.

DAY TO DAY:

Managing day to day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable and general ledger

Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, monitoring cash-flow, budgets and forecasts

Year-end reconciliation and preparation of financial statements

Preparation of corporation tax computation and CT600

Month end reconciliation to report monthly management accounts

VAT reconciliation and preparation of VAT returns

Filing of financial statements, corporation tax returns & VAT returns

R&D submissions

Ensuring compliance, maintain controls

Preparing submissions of self-assessment returns

Liaising with HMRC, Companies House and other authorities

Confirming statement submissions

Working with several accounting platforms, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Free agent & Iris

Using Dropbox, O365, SharePoint to retrieve client records

Supporting other members of the team, coaching and mentoring

Continuous communication with clients on a day-to-day basis

Problem solving with and for clients, liaising with clients and supporting on client Audits

Visiting clients once per month

WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE:

AAT qualification to Level 4

A sound background in accounts and managing multiple accounts process

Experience of working within practice

Knowledge of any of the following software application Quickbooks, Xero, Sage and Iris

Sound managerial skills
