Accounts Manager

Accounts Manager - £25,000 to £30,000 per year - On-Site - Whitley, Reading

FryerMiles are delighted to be supporting a dynamic and ambitious accountancy firm on their recruitment of an Accounts Manager to join their team in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for an AAT or ACCA student to join a progressive, forward-thinking modern practice, working within their client services team in a busy and friendly office environment.

The successful candidate will have 1+ year's experience in an accounting role, ideally within a practice, and be currently studying towards their AAT qualification, with the ambition to progress to ACCA.

Responsibilities Include:

Helping manage a small portfolio of clients

Working mainly on Xero but also occasionally other accounting systems, Quickbooks, Sage etc

Helping with client's bookkeeping and sales and purchase invoice processing

Completion of bank & credit card reconciliations

Posting monthly journals such as payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments along with month end procedures and reports

Preparation of VAT calculations for different VAT schemes and submission of VAT returns

Some scope for preparation of monthly management accounts

Helping with preparation of year end accounts for Limited Companies and Sole Traders

Liaising regularly with clients responding to queries and providing general assistance.

Requirements:

Work to established processes and procedures

Have great interpersonal skills

Excellent verbal and numerical reasoning

You should be methodical with an eye for detail

Be familiar with Xero (Xero certification would be a distinct advantage)

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Experience delivering excellent service levels to clients

Ability to work on own initiative unsupervised

Ability to work to strict deadlines
