Accounts Manager

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established and reputable accountancy practice based in Northwest Manchester to recruit an experienced Accounts Manager. The Role
As Accounts Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing a diverse portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors. You will manage a small team and act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with accounting standards and deadlines.

Your responsibilities as the Accounts Manager will include:

• Managing a portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Reviewing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and management accounts.
• Acting as a key liaison for client queries and relationship management.
• Supporting and mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal quality standards.
• Assisting with practice development, onboarding new clients, and identifying opportunities for growth.

To be considered for the role of Accounts Manager, you will possess:

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a similar role within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach.
• Confident in managing a team and reviewing work to a high standard.
• Comfortable working with cloud-based software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
