Accounts Manager/Senior Manager

Sheridan Maine is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity that has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a dynamic and growing accountancy practice based in north Hertfordshire. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys taking ownership of financial processes, managing a small team, and supporting strategic decision-making within the business.

You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the smooth running of all finance functions, while working closely with senior leadership to support planning and growth.

Key responsibilities as the Accounts Manager:

• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
• Lead the budgeting process and monitor financial performance.
• Manage and support a small finance team.
• Ensure timely completion of VAT returns and compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Recommend and implement process improvements across the department.
  
  

The successful Accounts Manager must possess:

• ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience in an accounts or finance manager role in a practice environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
