Sheridan Maine is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity that has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a dynamic and growing accountancy practice based in north Hertfordshire. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys taking ownership of financial processes, managing a small team, and supporting strategic decision-making within the business.
You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the smooth running of all finance functions, while working closely with senior leadership to support planning and growth.
Key responsibilities as the Accounts Manager:
Oversee and manage daily accounting operations.
Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
Lead the budgeting process and monitor financial performance.
Manage and support a small finance team.
Ensure timely completion of VAT returns and compliance with HMRC regulations.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Recommend and implement process improvements across the department.
The successful Accounts Manager must possess:
ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified or qualified by experience.
Proven experience in an accounts or finance manager role in a practice environment.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
What’s on offer:
Salary of £45,000 – £65,000 depending on experience.
