Accounts Payable Specialist

Orka Financial is partnering with a leading global business based in Reading who are seeking to hire a highly organised Accounts Payable Specialist to join their fast-paced finance department.

Role Overview:
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of invoices and payments. You will work closely with both local and international teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders, supporting a busy finance function and contributing to the smooth financial operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Ensure timely and accurate payment of suppliers, vendors, and contractors across multiple currencies and countries.

• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate records of all invoices, payments, and related documentation for audit purposes.

• Collaborate with procurement, finance, and other departments to support invoice approvals and resolve queries.

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting.

• Support compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and company policies.

• Continuously improve AP processes and contribute to automation initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role, preferably in an international or multi-currency environment.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, invoice management, and payment procedures.

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with global teams and vendors.

• Understanding of financial controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
