Description

Accounts Receivable Specialist

  • Location: Manchester – Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)
  • Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per annum, dependent on relevant experience, demonstrated capabilities and performance throughout the selection process
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time
  • Reporting to: Finance Operations Manager

Take ownership. Make an impact. Keep business moving.

We're looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team at Grayce, taking ownership of our end-to-end order-to-cash process and playing a key role in maintaining strong cash performance.

This is more than a traditional credit control role. From managing complex billing data and client invoicing to driving collections and resolving disputes, you'll have a direct impact on financial performance while working closely with colleagues across Finance, Commercial and Delivery.

As Grayce evolves into a more technology-driven, AI-enabled business, you'll also have the opportunity to improve processes, introduce automation and help us work smarter.

What You'll Be Doing

Billing & Invoicing

  • Own the monthly billing cycle, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing using Salesforce timesheet, placement and rate data.
  • Manage self-billing arrangements, purchase orders and client procurement portals, resolving discrepancies and invoice disputes.

Credit Control & Cash Collection

  • Manage the sales ledger, proactively chasing overdue payments and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Monitor days sales outstanding (DSO), identify payment risks and provide clear aged debt reporting and cash collection updates.
  • Allocate customer receipts accurately and resolve outstanding balances and payment queries.

Data, Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Use advanced Excel skills to reconcile large datasets, maintain accurate financial records and identify billing discrepancies.
  • Work closely with Finance, Commercial and Delivery teams to resolve issues affecting billing and cash collection.
  • Support monthly reconciliations, financial controls and audit requirements across Sage Intacct and Salesforce.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve billing, collections and reporting processes.
  • Support the adoption of automation and AI-enabled tools, reducing manual activity and improving efficiency and accuracy.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical finance skills with commercial awareness, attention to detail and a proactive approach.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, billing or credit control, including sales ledger management and debt collection.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and reconciling large datasets.
  • Experience invoicing from timesheet or activity-based data, ideally within professional services, consultancy, recruitment or contracting.
  • Confidence managing client payment queries, disputes and collections.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build relationships and take ownership of outcomes.
  • An interest in improving processes and using technology to work more efficiently.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:

  • Experience using Sage Intacct and Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of self-billing, procurement portals or e-invoicing systems.
  • An AAT or CICM qualification, or are working towards one.
  • Experience with Power Query, generative AI or automation tools.

Why Join Grayce?

For over a decade, Grayce has helped leading organisations deliver change through exceptional talent. Now, we're building on that expertise, embracing technology and AI-enabled solutions to evolve how we operate.

You'll join a collaborative team where your contribution matters, with the opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical function, strengthen your commercial and technical expertise, and help improve the way we work.

Location & Eligibility

This is a hybrid role based in Manchester, requiring three days per week in the office.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. Grayce is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position, so candidates must be able to undertake the role without requiring sponsorship from Grayce.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you're looking for a role where you can take ownership, apply your expertise and make a measurable difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and build your career with Grayce.
