A well-established and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant to join its friendly and supportive team in York.

Semi Senior Accountant Opportunity in York
This independent accountancy practice works with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across a variety of sectors.
As a Semi Senior Accountant, you'll gain exposure to statutory accounts, tax compliance, cloud accounting and client advisory work, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to continue developing a well-rounded career in practice.
You'll work closely with senior accountants and managers while building strong relationships with your own portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities of Semi Senior Accountant
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Preparing statutory accounts and supporting working papers for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
* Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with personal tax matters
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Using Xero, Dext and other cloud accounting software to deliver efficient bookkeeping and accounting solutions
* Supervising and supporting junior team members, reviewing work and providing guidance
* Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact
* Providing practical accounting and business advice to clients
* Identifying opportunities to add value and improve client service
* Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with current accounting standards and deadlines
Candidate Requirements - Semi Senior Accountant Jobs York
The ideal candidate will have:
* An AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification, or be Qualified by Experience (QBE)
* Around three years' experience within an accountancy practice
* Strong experience preparing statutory accounts
* Knowledge of corporation tax and VAT compliance
* Experience using Xero, Dext and cloud accounting software
* Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
* A proactive approach with a genuine interest in advising clients
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
