Location: Southwick, West Sussex
Salary: £26,000 – £38,000 (DOE)

Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant, Technician or Semi-Senior looking for a new challenge within a supportive and growing accountancy firm? This well-established independent practice, with a modern and friendly Southwick office, is expanding and looking for an enthusiastic Accounts professional to join the team.

This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for someone with solid experience in practice who enjoys working closely with a wide range of clients.

You will be responsible for supporting the preparation of accounts and tax returns for a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, while building great client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the Southwick office.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

• Assisting with the preparation of corporation and personal tax returns

• Bookkeeping and VAT return preparation

• Supporting clients with day-to-day queries and cloud accounting software

• Liaising with managers and partners to ensure timely delivery of work

• Experience in a UK accountancy practice is essential

• AAT qualified or studying, or qualified by experience

• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts prep, and VAT

• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks etc.)

• A positive attitude, good attention to detail, and willingness to learn

• A supportive and sociable working environment

• Flexible hours and potential for part-time if preferred

• Full study support for AAT, ACCA or similar (if desired)
