Accounts Senior

A well-established, client-focused accountancy firm in Hull is seeking a motivated Accounts Senior / Semi-Senior to join their growing team. Working with owner-managed businesses and a strong agricultural and landed estates client base, you will prepare statutory accounts, manage VAT returns, support trainee development, and help deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements for companies, LLPs, partnerships, trusts, and sole traders
• Draft associated tax computations
• Compile and check VAT returns, along with other statutory filings
• Liaise with clients and address their queries
• Support audit and tax teams on collaborative work
• Supervise, coach, and assist trainees
• Maintain timely, accurate, cost-effective deliverables
• Continuously review own workload and meet deadlines
• Maintain professionalism both in-office and with clients
• Undertake ongoing training and stay up-to-date with technical developments

What We’re Looking For
• Part- or fully-qualified ACA/ACCA (AAT with strong experience also considered)
• Several years’ UK practice experience
• Experience in agriculture and landed estates sectors is a plus (training can be provided)
• Proficient in cloud and desktop accounting software: Excel, Word, Outlook, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS, Farmplan, Key Prime, etc.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
• Professional communicator, client-focused, proactive
