Accounts Senior

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

Qualification: ACA/ACCA Qualified or QBE (Qualified by Experience)

A well-established accountancy practice in Sheffield is seeking an experienced and driven Practice Accounts Senior to join its growing team. This position is ideally suited to a Qualified or QBE accountant with a strong background in practice who is looking to take on a client-facing and supervisory role.

• Managing a personal portfolio of clients across a range of industries, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.
• Preparing complex statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Reviewing accounts, tax returns, and bookkeeping prepared by junior staff to ensure quality and compliance.
• Supervising, mentoring, and training junior and semi-senior team members, supporting their professional development.
• Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and participating in client meetings to provide financial insights and advice.
• Staying up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

• ACA/ACCA qualified or QBE with substantial experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a client portfolio independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in supervising and developing junior staff.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
