Payroll & Accounts Supervisor | Southport | Full-Time, Permanent | Progression to Management

Are you a seasoned finance professional ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a confident and experienced Payroll & Accounts Supervisor to join a close-knit team in Southport.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who not only brings strong technical skills in SAGE 50 Payroll and SAGE 200 Accounts, but also has the leadership qualities to guide and support a small team as the business continues to grow.

?? What You’ll Be Doing:

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing end-to-end payroll processing, including starters, leavers, and statutory payments
  • Managing PAYE, NI, pensions, and year-end submissions
  • Monitoring absences, holidays, and timesheets
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and internal policies

Accounts Responsibilities:

  • Managing supplier and customer accounts, invoicing, and reconciliations
  • Producing monthly statements, VAT returns, and financial reports
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes, including P&L and balance sheets
  • Assisting with stock takes, Sage data entry, and reporting
  • Leading on contract administration and general office finance tasks

? Leadership & Progression:

  • Supporting and mentoring team members
  • Taking ownership of finance operations
  • Working closely with directors and external accountants to drive improvements

? What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience with SAGE 50 Payroll and SAGE 200 Accounts
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive mindset and readiness to take on more responsibility

? What’s On Offer:

  • Salary of £30,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (37.5 hours per week)
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
