About the role

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a range of accounting tasks such as invoice processing, reconciliations, VAT returns, prepayments, accruals, and profit and loss analysis, while supporting month-end and year-end close activities.
• Performing cash allocations and bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of all financial records.
• Processing bi-weekly payroll, including commissions and adjustments; managing pension contributions and submitting statutory reports.
• Using Sage 50, Excel, Outlook, and Word to maintain financial documents, databases, and supplier records.
• Handling general administrative tasks including photocopying, archiving, and document preparation; ensuring filing systems remain organised and compliant.
• Communicating with internal teams and external partners to resolve queries and maintain smooth daily operations.

Personal Profile

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join our client’s growing finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative spirit to support the financial operations during an exciting phase of expansion.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Hold (or be working towards) an AAT Level 4 qualification.
• Demonstrate strong experience in day-to-day accounting tasks such as processing invoices, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, payroll, and monthly accounts preparation.
• Be proficient in accounting software (particularly Sage 50) and Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Possess a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Be solutions-focused, with a keen eye for accuracy and process improvement.
• Thrive in a team-oriented culture while also working independently to meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and external contacts to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
