Job Description - Activities Co-Ordinator

Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group are looking for an exceptional Activities Co-Ordinator to join us at our Fidra House Nursing Home in North Berwick, East Lothian.

*** £14.05 per hour, optional overtime at time plus 33%, enhanced sick pay scheme, recommend a friend bonus and a great working environment with development potential ***

This is a vital role within our nursing home working 40 hours per week with alternate weekends off and the successful candidate will have a background in group activity planning and implementation.

Job Purpose

  • The role of Activities Co-Ordinator is to plan, organised and implement, taking resident views into consideration, a full programme of meaningful weekly activities within the home.

Main Responsibilities

  • To plan activities, taking into account the different needs and abilities of our residents
  • To discuss plans with the residents either individually or in groups
  • To seek feedback and suggestions at resident meetings and from families/visitors
  • To meet regularly with the Home Manager and Deputy to discuss plans and seek advice on financial matters
  • To communicate with Nurses and Carers about planned activities and record in the communication book
  • With agreement of senior staff, involve carers in planned activities

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience working within a similar creative role
  • Experience of organising activities for a group of people, ideally but not essentially elderly people
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of the local community
  • An ability to uphold residents rights
  • Have experience of activities suitable for elderly residents
