Actuarial Consultant

Our Life Insurance Team provides consultancy services under both long-term support contracts and on standalone projects to a range of insurance and non-insurance clients. Our clients range from large multinationals and small niche insurers, based across a range of territories, to regulators and the Continuous Mortality Investigation (CMI), part of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

We have a new opportunity for a Actuarial Consultant to join the Life Insurance team in our London office on a hybrid basis. There is also opportunity to work with the General Insurance and Longevity teams to gain varied experience.

A snapshot of your day:

In this role you will be doing a mix of all or some of the following according to your skills:

• Running and\or checking models in Python, R or Excel and then interpreting the results.
• Manipulating data.
• Creating models in Python, R or Excel with supervision.
• Owning some of the Tools used in the team and supervising training for team members.
• Writing draft reports for clients.
• Potential to also work in BPA pricing and on Matching Adjustment projects.

We would love to hear from if you have:

• Part qualified actuary with experience working in Life or Longevity pricing or reserving or other life insurance roles.
• Ability to do and lead technical actuarial work and oversee development of software/models.
• Good communicator. Drafting client reports and meeting papers and presenting at meetings.
• Detail-oriented and highly organised.
• A team player, with the ability and confidence to liaise and communicate with stakeholders both internally and externally.
• A problem solver, love finding solutions to complex problems.
