Teaching Consultancy is working with a welcoming and inclusive [primary/secondary] school in Newham to recruit an organised and proactive Admissions and Attendance Officer. This is a key role at the heart of the school office, helping pupils settle in smoothly and making sure every child is in school and ready to learn.

The role

* Manage the full admissions process, including in-year admissions, liaising with parents and the Local Authority

* Maintain accurate pupil records on the school's MIS (e.g. SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom)

* Monitor daily attendance, follow up on absences and make first-day contact calls to parents/carers

* Identify attendance patterns and flag concerns to the Attendance Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead

* Prepare attendance reports and data for the Senior Leadership Team and statutory returns

* Support attendance meetings, letters, parenting contracts and Local Authority referrals

* Arrange welcome meetings and induction for new pupils and families

* Provide general administrative support to the school office

The ideal candidate will have

* Experience in a school admissions, attendance or school office role (preferred)

* Confident use of a school MIS and Microsoft Office

* Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional manner with families

* Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for accuracy

* An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality

* Knowledge of DfE attendance guidance (desirable)

* Additional languages spoken in the local community would be an advantage
