Adult & Paediatric Crisis Worker - Bransford/Telford - 0Hrs

Job Description - Adult & Paediatric Crisis Worker - Bransford/Telford - 0Hrs

Could you be a calm presence when someone needs it most?

An Adult & Paediatric Crisis Worker isn't simply there to manage a process. You're there for the person going through it.

You'll support adults, children and families attending a Sexual Assault Referral Centre, often at an incredibly difficult and vulnerable time.

From the moment someone contacts the service, you'll help create a safe, calm and supportive environment. You'll explain what happens next, advocate for their needs and choices, and support them through the practical and emotional aspects of attending the SARC, including where appropriate their forensic medical examination.

You'll need empathy, but you'll also need resilience. Warmth, but also professional boundaries. The ability to listen, while still ensuring important procedures and records are completed accurately.

It is that combination that makes a great Crisis Worker.

You could be a strong fit if you have experience in administration, social care, healthcare, safeguarding or support work and you're comfortable supporting people in challenging situations. The existing advert specifically identifies those backgrounds as relevant.

Location: The Glade SARC, Bransford and The Glade SARC, Telford

Ideally candidates will live in the Kidderminster area as there is an expectation to travel between both sites.

Salary: Retainer rates - £30.56 (per 8 hour shift) from 09:00 Monday through to 08:59 Saturday and £40.24 from 09:00 Saturday through to 08:59 Monday. The attendance payment is £16.01 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours per case.

Shift Patterns : Monday-Sunday, shift pattern 9-5, 5-1, 1-9 – primarily weekends and evenings 24 hours a week, as part of a 24/7 service

Hours, training & support:

You'll join us on a flexible zero-hours basis, covering a mixture of day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts. Current shift patterns are 9am–5pm, 5pm–1am and 1am–9am.

You don't need to arrive knowing everything about working in a SARC. You'll receive training to help you understand the specialist environment and build the confidence needed for the role. You'll also be working as part of a wider service alongside healthcare professionals and partner agencies.

What we need from you is the right foundation: compassion, resilience, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to supporting people when they may be at their most vulnerable.

Apply today and be the calm, compassionate presence that makes a difference when someone needs it most.

• Welcoming and supporting adults, children and their families when they attend the SARC

• Providing clear, sensitive information by telephone and in person

Comfortable working with children and adults

You'll understand that different people require different approaches to communication, reassurance and support.
