Are you an experienced Service or Aftermarket Manager looking for an opportunity to shape and grow a high-performing operation?
I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business seeking an ambitious Aftermarket Manager to lead its service operations across the UK and Europe. This is a commercially focused leadership role with full responsibility for driving performance, developing the team, and growing the aftermarket business.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll take ownership of the aftermarket function, leading field service, installations, technical support, customer service and spare parts operations. You'll have full P&L responsibility and play a key role in developing long-term customer relationships while driving revenue growth, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a team of service coordinators, field engineers and support staff.
* Manage the day-to-day delivery of service, installation and customer support activities.
* Drive growth in service contracts, spare parts sales and aftermarket revenue.
* Take ownership of departmental budgets, KPIs and P&L performance.
* Build strong relationships with customers across the UK and Europe.
* Lead installation projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
* Oversee warranty investigations and support the resolution of technical issues with internal teams.
* Identify new business opportunities within existing customer accounts and develop strategies to improve customer retention.
* Drive continuous improvement across service operations, quality and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure high standards of health & safety, compliance and service delivery.
About You
You'll be an experienced people manager with a strong commercial mindset and a background in engineering, industrial equipment, automation, materials handling or a similar technical environment.
You'll also have:
* Experience managing field service, aftermarket or technical support operations.
* Proven P&L or budget responsibility with the ability to drive revenue growth and profitability.
* Experience managing installation projects and engineering resources.
* Strong leadership, coaching and team development skills.
* Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management experience, ideally across multiple countries.
* Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Experience using ERP, CRM and Microsoft Office systems.
* A proactive approach to continuous improvement, operational excellence and customer service.
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
