Our client is a highly respected main contractor delivering high-quality new build commercial and education projects across London, the Thames Valley and Kent. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Aftercare Manager to oversee the defects and post-completion process across multiple schemes.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Aftercare Manager or a Senior Site Manager seeking a change of direction, who has a strong understanding of project delivery, quality standards and client expectations.
The Role
Reporting into the Operations team, you will take ownership of the aftercare and defects management process from practical completion through to final sign-off, ensuring an exceptional level of service to clients and end users.
You will manage multiple projects simultaneously across a broad geographical region, liaising with site teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients to ensure defects are identified, monitored and resolved within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the aftercare and defects process across a portfolio of completed projects. Coordinate and monitor snagging, defects and remedial works through to successful closure. Conduct regular site inspections and client meetings. Maintain accurate records and reporting using snagging and defects management software. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure works are completed to the required quality standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, end users and project stakeholders. Support project teams during handover and the defects liability period. Produce regular progress reports for senior management.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience within the construction industry in a Site Management, Senior Site Management, Project Management or Aftercare role. Strong knowledge of new build commercial and/or education projects. Experience managing snagging and defects processes. Proficient in the use of snagging software such as RDrive, Field View, PlanRadar, SnagR or similar platforms. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Full UK driving licence. Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively across London, Thames Valley and Kent as required.
