Agent / CRE (Contractor's Responsible Engineer) The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Agent / Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) to take a leading role on a portfolio of high-profile rail infrastructure projects across the North West.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, industry-leading contractor delivering major transport and infrastructure schemes that improve connectivity and communities. The Role
Acting as the Agent / CRE, you will take overall responsibility for leading the delivery of three Access for All (AfA) projects:
Bredbury Davenport Woodsmoor
You will be the key point of contact, ensuring effective coordination between project teams, designers and the client, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and programme delivery.
There is also a strong pipeline of additional projects due to commence, providing excellent continuity beyond the initial schemes.
Key Responsibilities Lead project delivery on behalf of the principal contractor. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client team (TfGM). Manage and coordinate the site delivery team, including leading weekly project meetings. Oversee and manage the Tony Gee design team, ensuring design outputs align with programme and project requirements. Produce and manage safety-critical documentation. Coordinate and manage site surveys. Lead the option selection process, ensuring technical, commercial and programme considerations are effectively managed. Drive collaboration across all stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. About You
We're looking for someone who can confidently lead multidisciplinary teams and provide strong technical and project leadership.
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience working as an Agent and/or CRE within the rail sector. Experience delivering Network Rail or rail infrastructure projects. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience coordinating design teams and managing project programmes. A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent organisational skills.
