About the Role:

We are seeking a forward-thinking and technically proficient AI & Technology Solicitor to join our innovative legal team. This role is ideal for a solicitor with a passion for emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, data governance, and digital transformation.

You will advise clients across sectors on the legal, regulatory, and ethical implications of AI and advanced technologies, helping them navigate a rapidly evolving legal landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to AI, machine learning, data protection, and algorithmic decision-making
• Draft and negotiate technology contracts, including SaaS agreements, licensing, and data-sharing arrangements
• Provide strategic guidance on AI governance, compliance, and risk management
• Support clients with regulatory investigations, audits, and policy development
• Monitor and interpret developments in UK, EU, and international AI regulation (e.g., EU AI Act, UK AI White Paper)
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including data scientists, engineers, and compliance professionals
• Contribute to thought leadership and client education on AI-related legal trends

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 2+ years PQE in technology, data, or regulatory law
• Strong understanding of AI technologies and their legal implications
• Experience advising on data protection (UK GDPR, DPA 2018) and digital compliance
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across offices
• Willingness to travel between Kent and Mayfair offices as needed

Desirable:

• Experience with AI governance frameworks, ethical AI, or algorithmic accountability
• Familiarity with intellectual property issues in AI development
• Background in computer science, data science, or a related technical field
• Involvement in legal tech or innovation initiatives
