AI Automation Test Engineer (Contract)

* 12-month initial contract (extension potential)
* £400-£600 per day (Inside IR35)
* Start date: ASAP
* Remote-first with occasional travel to London

You'll join a major digital transformation programme in an Agile environment, building automation that strengthens confidence across traditional and AI-driven features.

What you'll be doing:

* Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites
* Execute functional, regression, integration and performance testing
* Validate AI-driven features, workflows and automated decision-making processes
* Collaborate with developers, architects and product teams to embed quality throughout delivery
* Build automation solutions using Java and Cucumber
* Analyse test results and drive continuous quality improvements
* Manage defects, reporting and documentation using JIRA and Confluence
* Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices
* Help ensure application performance, scalability and resilience across large-scale platforms

What you'll bring:

* Strong experience in automation testing / quality engineering
* Hands-on experience with Java and Cucumber
* Background in performance testing
* Experience using JIRA and Confluence
* Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies
* Experience working across enterprise-scale or digital transformation programmes
* Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills
