Airport Security Officer - Stansted Airport

Optime Group are excited to be recruiting an Airport Security Officer to support a well-established client at Stansted Airport. This is a brilliant opportunity for individuals seeking stable work, great shift patterns, and excellent facilities in a supportive, people-focused environment.

No previous security experience? No problem! Full training will be provided, including support with background checks. On-site mentoring and clear onboarding into to the position.

• 27th April 2026
• 11th May 2026
• 25th May 2026

Why This Role?

• Rate of pay: £14.34 per hour (first 12 weeks, increasing to £15.34 per hour post 12 weeks of service.
• Shift timing: 9-hour shifts between 03:00 am - 00:00 am (You must be flexible with the hours you work)
• Shift hours: 33 to 40+ hours per week. (9-hour shifts per day)
• 5 shifts per week booked via the Elevate App.
• 9-day paid training provided by sector experts.
• Weekly pay, every Friday
• Temp-to-perm based on performance

Your Role Includes:

• Using equipment and manual search techniques to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken into secure airport areas.
• Monitor and enforce security procedures to maintain a safe environment.
• Screening passengers and baggage.
• Patrolling airside and landside areas.
• Access control and incident investigation.
• Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
• Stay vigilant for suspicious behaviour or activities.
• Collaborate with other security personnel to maintain a seamless security process.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, completing all necessary follow-up documentation.
• Report any breaches or violations of security protocols to appropriate authorities.
• Undertake any additional reasonable duties as assigned by operational management.

Shifts:

Please note these are an estimate, and your exact timings will be clarified closer to start date

• Early: 03:00 – 15:00
• Late: 14:00 - 00:00

Candidates must be able to work both Late and Early shift patterns.

Requirements:

• Must have actively lived in the UK for the past 3 years. As successful applications will need to complete a CTC check before starting.
• Enthusiastic and customer-oriented approach
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
• Exceptional observational skills with a keen attention to detail
• Physically capable and prepared to stand for prolonged periods
• Verification of National Insurance and current residence required
• Five-year address history needed
• Willingness to complete a basic criminal background check
• Flexible and able to adhere to rigorous security guidelines
