Alternative Provision Practitioner

WE ARE HIRIING!!

We are looking to recruit Alternative Provision Practitioners to work with Primary and Key Stage 3 and 4 learners who require a bespoke and supportive educational approach, delivering Maths and English up to GCSE level within alternative provision.

The Role :

The primary Student Practitioner will work directly with primary ages pupils who require Alternative Provision due to behavioural, emotional, social , medical or other complex needs. The role involves supporting pupils to engage positively with learning, develop social and emotional skills, improve attendance and behaviour, and achieve positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will build positive relationships with pupils, promote inclusion, and contribute to a safe, nurturing , and trauma-informed learning environment.

Working with KS3 and KS4 students you will be responsible for planning and delivering engagement, differentiated Maths and English sessions to small groups or individual leaners, many of whom may face barriers to mainstream education. You will play a vital role in supporting academic progress, engagement and personal development.

Key Responsibilities :

• Use Restorative and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour

• Help Pupils identify strategies to manage emotions

• Support pupils during periods of dysregulation and crisis

• Implement behaviour support plans and risk assessments

• Contribute to creating a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment.

• Deliver Maths and English up to GCSE level to KS3 and KS4 students

• Work effectively with learners in alternative provision settings

• Plan, prepare and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs

• Monitor progress and provide clear feedback to learners and PET-Xi staff

• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation

• Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice at all times

Desirable

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification

• Experience working with learners with SEMH, SEND, or disengaged learners

• Functional Skills or GCSE teaching experience in alternative provision contexts

Employment Details

• Work offered on a flexible, sessional basis

• Competitive day or hourly rates (dependent on experience and delivery model)
