📍 Rochdale, Greater Manchester 🕗 Monday-Friday | 8:00am-4:00pm 💰 £110-£120 per day (depending on experience) 📅 Full-Time | Temporary to Long-Term 🎓 September Start
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join a supportive setting in Rochdale.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people who may face barriers to learning, including SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional support needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students engage with education and reach their full potential.
The Role
Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions Building positive and trusting relationships with students Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs Encouraging engagement, attendance, and participation in learning Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff Promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
We Are Looking For
Experience working with children or young people is desirable A positive, patient, and resilient attitude Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations Passion for supporting young people to succeed
Transferable Experience Welcome
We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in:
Youth Work Sports Coaching Support Work Residential Childcare Mentoring Health & Social Care Psychology Graduates Teaching Assistants Security or Public Services Any role supporting children, young people, or vulnerable individuals
Essential Requirements
Enhanced DBS certificate covering Child and Adult Workforce, registered on the DBS Update Service, or willingness to apply and pay for a new DBS check. Right to work in the UK. Ability to provide professional references covering the last two years. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
