Aluminium Manager

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

An established and growing business within the fenestration, glazing and home improvement sector is looking to appoint an experienced Aluminium Manager to lead their aluminium manufacturing operation.

This is a key management position responsible for the day-to-day running, performance and development of the aluminium operation. The ideal candidate will come from a fenestration, glazing or aluminium fabrication background and have experience managing production, people, quality and operational performance.

The Role

As Aluminium Manager, you will take responsibility for the efficient running of the aluminium operation, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards, within agreed timescales and to customer specification.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Manage the day-to-day aluminium manufacturing and fabrication operation.

* Lead, motivate and develop the production team.

* Plan production schedules, workloads and labour requirements.

* Monitor production output, productivity, quality and delivery performance.

* Ensure aluminium windows, doors and associated products are manufactured correctly and to specification.

* Manage materials, stock levels and production requirements.

* Work closely with suppliers and procurement to ensure materials are available when required.

* Identify opportunities to improve production processes, efficiency and profitability.

* Monitor and reduce waste, rework and production downtime.

* Maintain high standards of quality control across the operation.

* Ensure health & safety procedures and manufacturing standards are maintained.

* Manage production KPIs and provide regular operational updates to senior management.

* Work closely with sales, surveying and installation teams to ensure a smooth process from order through to manufacture and dispatch.

* Support the continued growth and development of the aluminium operation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Aluminium, Production or Operations Manager with a strong understanding of the fenestration industry.

Ideally, you will have:

* Previous management experience within aluminium manufacturing, fabrication or fenestration.

* Strong knowledge of aluminium windows, doors and associated products.

* Experience managing production teams and day-to-day manufacturing operations.

* Good understanding of production planning, scheduling and workflow.

* Experience monitoring KPIs, productivity, quality and delivery performance.

* Strong people management and leadership skills.

* Good knowledge of stock, materials and supplier management.

* A strong focus on quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.

* Good understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment.

* Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

* The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

* A hands-on and proactive approach to management.
