Role: Analyst Location: Durham, England - Hybrid Working
My client is a leading renewables development firm dedicated to expediting the transition to sustainable energy. With offices located in Durham and Hamilton, the team is steadfast in catalyzing positive transformations by delivering innovative and impactful solutions to tackle the world's energy challenges. Over the past two decades, the team has meticulously curated an onshore renewables portfolio boasting 4 GW of renewable capacity in the pipeline. Additionally, they are proudly own and operate 11 operational onshore wind farms spanning Scotland and northern England.
Primary Duties: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to bolster the advancement of renewable energy initiatives, encompassing wind, solar, and energy storage undertakings. Gather, systematize, and scrutinize data pertinent to energy markets, resource evaluation, and financial projections. Engage collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate project risks and opportunities, offering insights for project development strategies. Aid in the formulation of project proposals, reports, and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external collaborators. Assist in the evaluation of potential project locales by appraising production potential and suitability. Remain abreast of industry trends, policies, and regulatory frameworks pertaining to renewable energy development within the UK. Contribute to the ongoing refinement and establishment of analytical tools, methodologies, and operational processes to augment project efficiency and efficacy. Participate actively in team gatherings, workshops, and training programs to fortify expertise and proficiency in renewable energy development.
Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related discipline. Prior experience in renewable energy development, consulting, or a related field is advantageous. Proficient analytical capabilities, including expertise in data analysis and utilization of statistical tools. Competency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, R). Exceptional research skills, enabling the collection, interpretation, and synthesis of intricate information. Effective communication aptitude, demonstrated through clear and concise presentation of findings and recommendations. Preferred understanding of renewable energy technologies and principles. Demonstrated proactive approach, displaying eagerness to learn, adapt, and tackle new challenges. Strong organizational proficiencies, adept at managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
