Role Summary and Impact


We are looking for a Risk and Controls Analyst to join our existing UK Risk and Controls team based in London. The candidate will be part of the worldwide Risk & Controls team, working within the UK team.


The objectives are:



  • To support the UK Risk and Controls function in a fast-paced environment and work cross-functionally with multiple geographies, functions, and employees of diverse backgrounds.

  • To champion innovation in the area of risk and controls.


 


Objectives of the Risk & Control function include:



  • Being a trusted partner and adviser for the Company in risk, internal controls, and compliance.

  • Driving continuous improvement in the Company’s control environment and fostering ownership and accountability for internal controls at all levels.

  • Supporting the culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity.

  • Providing training on internal policies, “what good looks like” in relation to controls, supporting controls implementation and demonstrating the value of good controls throughout the Company.

  • Embracing technology and innovation to optimize risk & control activities and increase level of compliance across the business; and

  • Building and leveraging relationships to identify risks, anticipate issues and recommend solutions.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • In all their responsibilities, the UK Risk and Controls Analyst will support the UK Risk and Controls team in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring regional risk and controls programs.

  • Support the Risk & Controls team with implementing controls across the UK in line with the WPP Internal Control framework, which includes meeting the documentation and evidence standards required.

  • Reinforce WPP Media policies, control requirements and communicate updates / changes to the business in a clear and concise manner.

  • Help coordinate internal control and risk management processes, e.g. authorisation matrices, gift & entertainment coordination for quarterly reviews, market Letter of Representation submissions, Code of Conduct and Declaration of Interest reviews.

  • To establish and maintain excellent relationships within the team and collaborate effectively with colleagues across WPP Media and WPP. Engage with multiple senior stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Help coordinate audit activities for the UK, liaising with internal and external audit teams and assist with monitoring remediation for all source of assurance such as Internal audit.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including use of technology, while adapting to the new and evolving challenges and opportunities.

  • Other responsibilities including but not limited to:

    • Ownership and administration of compliance systems, including MS teams and shared folders.

    • Prepare reports and presentations (for audit results, issues and remediation actions, training, etc.).

    • Maintain trackers to monitor and analyze the status of audits and other activities.

    • Assist UK Risk and Controls team management in ad hoc activities in relation to Risk and Controls function.
