Android Developer - Government

Job Title: Android Developer
Duration: Six months
Day Rate: £400pd Outside IR35
Location: Four days remote, one day per week in Manchester 
Start Date: Immediate 
 
We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team and contribute to a national-scale mobile app within a public sector organisation that prioritises engineering excellence. You will be part of a forward-thinking environment with a modern setup that includes automated testing, ephemeral branch deployments, and performance testing using AWS CodeBuild.
 
In this role, you'll appreciate a focus on clean architecture and thorough test coverage. Working mostly remotely, you’ll be crucial in our efforts to deliver high-quality software.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Integrate internal government services into a heavily utilised mobile app.
Develop features end to end, maintaining high standards in testing and quality throughout. 
Essential Skills:

Strong proficiency in Kotlin
Experience with Jetpack Compose
Familiarity with MVVM and Clean Architecture
Competence in automated testing (unit, integration/feature, and UI)
Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD 
Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of Java
Experience with K6 for performance testing
Familiarity with AWS and CodeBuild 
Requirements:

Prior experience in government or public sector projects
Eligibility for SC clearance
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
