The Role

We are currently looking for a Senior API/Integration Developer to join a major public sector technology programme on an initial 7-month contract.

This is a hands-on development role focused on delivering bespoke integrations between internal systems, cloud platforms and third-party applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Azure and C#/.NET, alongside a proven background in developing and supporting complex integration solutions. Candidates with strong integration experience using Python or other comparable programming languages will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop bespoke integration solutions between multiple systems and platforms.
Develop and maintain integrations with third-party applications and services.
Build and support cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure.
Develop integration components and applications using C#/.NET or another suitable programming language.
Work with APIs, web services and other integration technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and application issues.
Work closely with developers, architects, technical teams and stakeholders to deliver integration solutions.
Contribute to technical design, documentation and development standards.
Support testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance of integration services.
Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reliable and maintainable.

Essential Skills & Experience

Active SC Clearance.
Strong commercial experience in bespoke systems integration.
Proven experience integrating systems with third-party applications/services.
Strong Microsoft Azure experience.
Strong development experience with C# / .NET or a comparable programming language.
Experience working with APIs and web services.
Good understanding of integration patterns and software development principles.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative Agile environment.

Desirable

Experience with Python.
REST / SOAP APIs.
Microservices and cloud-native development.
Azure integration services.
CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Experience integrating legacy and modern systems.
Experience working within large, complex or highly regulated organisations.
