Application Support Engineer

Job Description

The Opportunity:
My client are based in the retail sector and they are currently looking for an Application Support Engineer to join their business.

In this role you will be resolving technology issues with system setup, day to day running and integration; assessing criticality and prioritising accordingly.

This is providing 2nd/3rd line systems support for my client’s technology, working collaboratively with support teams, head office colleagues and partners to resolve issues in a timely manner.

You must be able to hit the ground running in this role and have extensive experience of some kind of ERP system.

Skills and Experience:
Experience working in a retail technology-based environment
Significant experience working in an IT support environment
Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Excellent communication skills and customer centric focus, capable of dealing with difficult and stressful situations
Some Data Analysis skills and the use of SQL would be advantageous
Experience supporting end users, POS application setup and integration, training and UAT testing is essential
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose to a high standard
Ability to operate in a complex, time critical, and constantly evolving environment
Highly organised and displays strong attention to detail
Ability to be independent and resourceful, escalating issues where necessary
Ability to work to strict deadlines with excellent time management skills
Maintains strong relationships with colleagues both within IT and across the wider business
Experience in writing support documentation
Good MS Excel experience with strength in using multiple data sources within pivot tables
