The Role...

We are currently recruiting an Apprentice Building Surveyor to join our Colchester office in the Commercial Building Surveying team. The role will include advice and training in order to provide an efficient and effective building surveying service to the Practice, and its clients

The selected candidate will…

Learn and assist with these types of services:

• Accessibility surveys


• Acquisition and disposal surveys


• Contract administration


• Design and specification


• Dilapidations


• Fire risk assessments


• Passive fire protection surveys


• Insurance valuation assessments


• Landlord and tenant advice


• Measured surveys


• Party wall awards


• Planned maintenance programmes


• Surveys


• Development monitoring

Please Note: This role may be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service, Baseline Personnel Security Standard, Counter Terrorist Check, Security Check, or Developed Vetting clearance.

Essential skills, experience, and attributes…

• Evidence of Level 2 qualifications in 4 subjects including Maths and English e.g. GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, Functional Skills, or ESFA-approved equivalents*


• Evidence of at least 112 UCAS Tariff points at Level 3 e.g. A Levels, BTEC National Diploma (or equivalent)**


• Ability to interpret and apply legislation and technical standards.


• Strong numeracy and literacy ability and data analysis skills.


• IT skills and the ability to learn relevant discipline software.


• Full clean driving licence
