A family-run residential developer with a strong reputation for quality is looking for an Architectural Technician / Technologist to join their growing in-house design team in Truro.

With a healthy pipeline of projects ranging from high quality 5-unit schemes to large-scale 300-unit communities, this is an exceptional opportunity to get involved in the full lifecycle of design and delivery.

This developer takes pride designing and delivering every home in house to a high standard. As part of a small but expanding team, you’ll work alongside the Technical Director and another Architectural Technologist. This position is open to Architectural Technologists / Technicians with varying levels of experience, from those with a few years in practice to more senior levels. With a strong and growing pipeline of work, the team remains flexible on experience level, but candidates should bring a solid practical foundation and be ready to get involved from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create feasibility layouts and develop standard house types and construction details
• Prepare and submit planning and building control drawings and supporting documentation
• Assist with RFIs and technical queries during construction
• Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and service providers
• Support due diligence on new sites (planning, utilities, constraints)
• Help refine interior specifications and materials
• Collate and track project drawings and documents

Requirements:

• Architectural degree or relevant experience within residential architecture
• Confident using CAD (Archicad or 3D modelling a bonus, not essential)
• Experience in producing planning and technical drawings
• Able to review consultant and manufacturer information with a critical eye
• Strong communicator, organised, and willing to get stuck into all aspects of delivery
