HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Maritime Shipping, Offshore and Marine Engineering sectors.

We are recruiting for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join a well established and hugely respected marine engineering business which specialise in marine inboard engines, propulsion systems and driveline solutions for commercial and leisure vessels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manage and develop relationships with marine OEMs, boat builders, dealerships and commercial vessel operators.

* Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts across the UK.

* Promote marine inboard engines, propulsion systems and associated technical solutions.

* Manage sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation and delivery.

* Work with boat builders and OEMs to influence engine selection and vessel specifications.

* Collaborate with technical and application engineers to ensure suitable propulsion solutions.

* Support vessel trials, commissioning and performance validation when required.

* Negotiate commercial agreements with key decision-makers.

* Attend customer meetings, marine exhibitions and industry events.

* Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.

* Achieve sales targets and maintain accurate forecasts and sales pipelines.

Qualifications and Requirements:

* Proven experience in technical sales, business development or key account management.

* Experience within commercial marine, leisure marine, marine engines or propulsion.

* Good technical understanding of marine engines and associated propulsion systems.

* Experience working with OEMs, boat builders, dealerships or vessel operators.

* Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

* Ability to communicate technical solutions to customers and stakeholders.

* Self-motivated, target-driven and comfortable managing a UK sales territory.

* Engineering, Naval Architecture or Business qualification advantageous.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
