Area to be covered: Keighley, Skipton, Harrogate up to Carlisle one days week at our client’s West Yorkshire deport)

Remuneration: £40,000-£45,000 neg. + up to 25% Bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager - Timber & Sheet Panel Products will involve:

• Field sales position selling a range of timber products and sheet panel materials
• Selling into various contractors including; joinery contractors, small to medium sized builders, housebuilders, main contractors, dry lining contractors, fencing contractors, hoarding contractors, façade contractors, shop fitters, kitchen manufacturers, joinery retailers etc.
• Mix of a new business development and account development role
• Working in a team of two field sales representatives you will be tasked with a £1.5m revenue target
• Stimulating demand with the contractors and fulfilling all orders via West Yorkshire depot
• One day a week in depot on patch, 3.5-4 days a week on the road, typically 6+ appointments per day
• Working closely with the Branch manager and rest of team to identify business opportunities
• Treat the area like it’s your own business, you will responsible for marketing and planning strategy etc.

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Timber & Sheet Panel Products with:

• Proven track record in construction field sales and the timber industry
• Open to all building products backgrounds, knowledge of timber and sheet panel products preferred
• Must have sold into contractors to stimulate demand
• Contacts within contractors including; joinery contractors, small to medium sized builders, housebuilders, main contractors, dry lining contractors, fencing contractors, hoarding contractors, façade contractors, shop fitters, kitchen manufacturers, joinery retailers may be beneficial
• Must have sold to contractors either for a manufacturer or a merchant
• Commercial acumen/ business brain, understand margins, computer literate etc.
• Ability to deal at multiple levels within customers
• Initiative and autonomous approach
• Driven, enthusiastic, hungry with a passion for the product and company
• Excellent communication skills
• Efficient territorial planning skills
