Art & Technology Technician

Supply Team are currently recruiting for an Art & DT Technician to work within a Secondary school in Newport. This is a full-time, temporary position beginning immediately. The working hours are term-time only, Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 3.30pm.

Art & Technology Technicians provide technical support to the Art and Food Department, by the preparation of tools, equipment and materials for lessons and displays. The work is varied and rewarding, and this is an exciting opportunity to help in the delivery of the highest quality Art and Food Technology education to young people.

Responsibilities:

* Providing technical and administrative support;

* Ensuring the teacher has everything required to deliver the lesson;

* Create and prepare resources;

* Assist pupils during the lessons;

* Maintain and monitor stock control;

* To maintain equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate must have experience within a professional environment as well as an understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety protocols. Key tasks are to support lesson preparation and implementation across the department, together with relevant administration duties related to coursework and department issues.
