About the Role

We are seeking a creative and passionate Art Teacher to join an enthusiastic and supportive department at a secondary school in Birmingham. The Art Teacher will be responsible for teaching both practical and theoretical aspects of art, covering a range of techniques, media, and styles across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful Art Teacher will work with students to develop their creativity and artistic skills while also helping them build an understanding of the historical, cultural, and contextual aspects of art.

As a Art Teacher, you will have the opportunity to help shape the curriculum, bringing your own expertise and creativity into the planning and delivery of lessons. The role will involve teaching a variety of topics, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media. The Art Teacher will also be expected to support extracurricular activities such as art exhibitions, school displays, and collaborative projects.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, the ideal Art Teacher will have:

• A degree in Art or a closely related subject.


• A PGCE or equivalent qualification and QTS.


• Experience teaching Art at secondary school level, particularly KS3 and KS4.


• A passion for art and creativity, with the ability to inspire students and foster a love for the subject.


• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work well within a team and manage classroom dynamics effectively.


• A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and school events.
