About the Art Teacher Role

As an Art Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering creativity and self-expression, while delivering engaging and effective lessons that support the academic and personal development of each student. You'll be part of a collaborative and innovative department that values the sharing of ideas and strives to push boundaries in the teaching of art.

Art Teacher Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, dynamic Art lessons across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5


• Differentiate your teaching to cater to the diverse needs and abilities of all students


• Monitor and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback and support


• Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment with effective behaviour management


• Contribute to the development of the department’s curriculum and lesson planning


• Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities such as art exhibitions, events, and workshops

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent


• A deep passion for Art and creativity, with expertise in a variety of artistic disciplines


• The ability to engage, inspire, and challenge students of all abilities


• Excellent communication and organisational skills to ensure the smooth running of lessons and the department


• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children


• Previous experience teaching Art at the secondary level
