Full Academic Year | September Start | £465 Per Week
Not every child communicates in the same way.
Some pupils need additional time to process information. Some thrive on routine and predictability. Others need trusted adults who understand that behaviour is often a form of communication.
We're working with a specialist autism provision in Newport that has built an exceptional reputation for creating calm, structured and highly supportive learning environments for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The school is designed around the needs of its pupils, with communication, emotional regulation and individual progress at the heart of everything it does. Similar specialist provisions often utilise approaches such as structured communication systems, sensory support and highly personalised learning pathways to help pupils thrive.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll become a key part of a team that genuinely changes lives.
This role would suit:
* Aspiring teachers, psychologists or speech and language therapists
* Graduates looking to gain meaningful SEN experience
* Support workers, care workers or youth workers
* Existing Teaching Assistants looking to specialise in ASD
* Anyone with a genuine interest in understanding autism and supporting young people
You don't need previous autism experience to apply. What matters most is patience, empathy and a willingness to learn. The school has a strong culture of support and understands that great practitioners are developed over time.
What makes this opportunity different is the environment. Staff work closely together, routines are consistent and relationships are prioritised. The focus is not simply on academic progress, but helping pupils develop communication, confidence, independence and life skills. Specialist autism settings often place significant emphasis on structured environments, emotional regulation and communication development because pupils achieve best when they feel safe, understood and supported.
At £465 per week, this is an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to start a career in education or develop specialist SEN experience that will be highly valued throughout the sector.
If you've ever considered working in autism support, this is the type of school that reminds you why the role matters. Apply today to secure a September interview Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
