Job Description - Assembly Operator

Assembly Operator (Mechanical Electrical Assembler)

Location: Andover, United Kingdom
Contract Type: Temporary
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Working Hours:

Monday-Thursday: 08:30 - 17:30
Friday: 08:30 - 17:00Are you an experienced Assembly Operator with strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills? We are seeking a talented Mechanical Electrical Assembler to join a dynamic team working within the HVAC sector, focusing on the assembly of Air Handling Units (AHUs). Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Electrical Assembler, you will:

Assemble mechanical components of Air Handling Units (AHUs) following technical drawings and specifications.
Install and wire electrical components such as motors, control panels, sensors, and actuators.
Perform quality checks and functional tests to ensure high standards.
Comply with UK health and safety regulations at all times.
Identify and report any faults or inconsistencies.
Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Skills & Experience

To be successful, you should have:

Proven experience in mechanical and electrical assembly (HVAC/AHU experience advantageous).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
Understanding of wiring, control systems, and basic electrical principles.
Experience using assembly tools and diagnostic equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable but not essential).
Previous HVAC or AHU assembly experience preferred.

Working Conditions

Workshop/manufacturing environment.
Manual handling required; some heavy components involved.
PPE must be worn where required.
