Assembly Technician / Skilled Assembler Location: West Sussex (Storrington area) Shift: Monday to Friday, Days
Overview of Role Found Industrial are recruiting for Assembly Technicians / Skilled Assemblers to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in the Storrington area.
This is a step up from a standard production assembly role. We are looking for candidates with strong hands-on assembly experience who are confident working on detailed, technical and more complex builds.
The role will involve supporting the build of high-precision products, including project-based assembly work as new products move into production. You will be working in a skilled manufacturing environment alongside experienced Technicians and Engineering staff.
This would suit someone from a background in mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, fitting, toolmaking, instrument making, precision assembly or similar.
Key Responsibilities
• Assemble complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components • Work from engineering drawings, build instructions and technical documentation • Carry out detailed assembly tasks including fitting, bonding, wiring, routing and component modification • Support project-based and low-volume assembly work • Use hand tools and basic measuring equipment confidently • Carry out basic checks, inspections and testing where required • Identify build issues and raise them with the relevant team members • Maintain accurate build records and follow agreed processes • Work to high standards of quality, accuracy and attention to detail
Requirements
• Previous experience in skilled assembly, fitting, toolmaking, instrument making, precision engineering or similar • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings or technical instructions • Strong hands-on ability with tools and detailed assembly work • Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach • Comfortable working on varied, low-volume or complex builds • Able to follow processes carefully and work accurately • Practical, reliable and able to work well within a technical production team
Desirable Experience
• Mechanical assembly • Electro-mechanical assembly • Wiring, soldering, crimping or bonding • Component modification or fitting work • Basic mechanical or electrical testing • Prototype, project-based or low-volume manufacturing experience • Experience working within an ISO or quality-controlled environment
This is not a basic production operative role. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on skilled, technical or detailed assembly work before.
