CassonX are thrilled to be the exclusive experienced hires recruiter for a City of London based boutique Asset Manager, who invests in Asset Backed Securities, Mortgage Backed Securities, CLOs and Distressed Debt. This small company gives all employees to have access to all departments in an open plan office, and encourages you to build relationships with the Front Office Traders. There are always lots of projects to work on, especially for those with coding skills and using them to help with automations. The Partner/COO is truly a nice person, realistic, and encouraging, and in our opinion would be excellent to work with.

To be considered for this role, CassonX are looking to identify someone who offers knowledge of working in Operations and supporting Fixed Income asset classes (non-derivatives, but ideally Mortgage Backed Securities, New Issues, Asset Backed Securities, Bonds and even CLOs). This experience would ideally be gained in a varied role in an Asset Management firm, or even held multiple Operations and Middle Office / Trade Support roles in Investment Banks, but they are also open to those who come from a Fund Administrator or Custodian. You will be able to offer experience of managing trade life cycles, various types of reconciliations, coupon management, payments, and hopefully cash management/liquidity expertise too. If coming from the buyside, it would be beneficial if you have appreciation for subscriptions/redemptions and NAV processes. Candidates with some coding skills, and who can start immediately, are distinctly advantageous. This role ideally suits someone who has long term aspirations to become a COO.

This is a standalone role, working as the “right hand man” to the COO and Partner. Interacting and sitting with the Front Office, supporting low-frequency trading you will cover all areas of the trade capture, cash reconciliations, NAV reconciliations, Fund Administration, Cash Management/Liquidity and support for technology enhancements of systems and automations of spreadsheets. This is quite a manual environment, and incredibly varied, so you will at times expected to be able to work things out with ease and intelligently, using your knowledge whilst working independently.
