Reed is partnering with one of Scotland’s most exciting and fastest growing facilities maintenance companies to recruit an experienced and dependable Assistant Accountant.

With a firm commitment to the highest quality of service to their strong blue chip client base, they are seeking a knowledgeable and hard-working accounts professional to assist the finance manager and oversee transactional finance operations.

The day-to-day responsibilities of the role will be:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparing monthly VAT returns
• Taking responsibility for the full CIS function, including returns, compilations, and reconciliations
• Taking accounts to trial balance
• Processing weekly and monthly payroll
• Acting as the line manager for 2 junior accounts team members
• Overseeing the full transactional accountancy function

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience performing transactional finance duties, ideally within facilities, trades, or construction sectors
• Strong working knowledge of CIS
• Experience in running weekly and monthly payroll
• Sound knowledge of accounting systems
