Our client is currently seeking a driven Assistant Accountant to join their forward-thinking finance team within a fast-paced, customer-focused organisation.

As the Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive support to the finance team and senior management in the effective management of daily financial operations.

The responsibilities:

• Oversee ledger maintenance, ensuring accurate bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process supplier invoices and payments with precision and timeliness.
• Prepare management accounts on weekly and monthly cycles, handling accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
• Support statutory compliance, including VAT returns and regulatory financial reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting for resort departments to align financial planning.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist in year-end audit procedures.
• Address cross-departmental finance inquiries, providing actionable solutions.
• Optimise financial workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy across operations.

The candidate:

• Demonstrated accounting background, ideally within a related role.
• AAT qualified, qualified-by-experience candidates will be considered.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting platforms and Excel expertise (formulas, pivot tables, reporting).
• Meticulous accuracy combined with analytical problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, fostering collaboration across teams.
