Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant | £30,000-32,000 | Liverpool

A successful and well established retail/distribution company in Liverpool is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join their team.

Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the month end process by posting accruals, prepayments and journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations including bank, nominal and general ledger
• Preparing monthly KPI and sales reports
• Helping out with preparing audits
• Overseeing the accounts payable function including processing of invoices, statement reconciliations and payment runs
• Running the accounts receivable function including raising invoices and chasing payments

For this Assistant Accountant role, you must have:

• Experience in supporting month end preparation of accounts with knowledge of accruals and prepayments ideally
• Accounts payable background would be advantageous
• AAT part/fully qualified
• Excellent communication skills
• Proactive, continuous improvement mindset in order to be able to support process improvements
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills
